Inactive Voters

Registered Voters maintain their eligibility to vote in town by verifying their continued residency when, most significantly, they return the Annual Street Listing (the census), mailed out to all Lincoln households every January.

Voters who fail to return the annual census, or to respond to a Confirmation mailing from the Town Clerk’s office mailed each summer (or to perform certain other civic activities), are deemed inactive and will have to complete an Affidavit of Current and Continuous Residence (see link below), and provide identification, before casting their ballots at the polls on Election Day.

If you wish to avoid standing in line for this purpose on Election Day, please click here to determine if you are an Inactive Voter.

If your name appears on the Inactive list, please complete an Affidavit of Continuous Residence and return it to the Town Clerk’s Office well in advance of Election Day.
