NEW ZOOM SAIL Balance Exercise Classes or exercise with us using videos online
NEW SAIL Fitness Class via Zoom with Derry Fridays at 10–10:45 am. Join Derry Tanner, retired nurse and certified personal trainer for Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL). Strength, balance, and flexibility exercises make you stronger and help you feel better. All you need to participate is comfortable clothing, a sturdy chair and light weights if you have them. Call or email Amy (781-259-8811/Rettiga@Lincolntown.org) to register and sign waiver forms. The Zoom link and password will be sent to you before the class. The zoom Sail Winter session cost is $60.00 (20 classes). Dec 3 through April 29.

Are You Experiencing Financial Difficulties Due to the COVID-19 Crisis?
Many people in the Lincoln community are experiencing financial distress due to the COVID-19 crisis. The Council on Aging’s Emergency Assistance Fund and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Financial Assistance Program and Food Pantry would like to help. If you are a Lincoln resident and:
- Will not be able to pay your rent or utility bills once the State of Emergency is lifted
- Cannot afford food, medication, health insurance, or other essential health-related costs
- Are going into credit card debt to pay essential bills
- Have other financial challenges that threaten your ability to live safely in our community
Please contact the Council on Aging at butta@lincolntown.org or (781) 259-8811 or the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Julia Parish at (781) 899-2611 or svdplincolnweston@gmail.com. You may contact either organization for a PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL CONSULTATION to determine what services and benefits may be of help, including possibly payment of some bills. Our two organizations are working together, so contacting either one will put you in touch with the assistance of both.
Both the Lincoln Emergency Assistance Fund and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul are funded entirely by grants and donations. To make a donation to the Council on Aging Emergency Assistance Fund, please send a check payable to the Town of Lincoln, with memo “Emergency Assistance Fund” and addressed to COA&HS c/o Town Offices, 16 Lincoln Road, Lincoln, MA 01773. To make a donation to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, please send a check to St. Vincent de Paul, PO Box 324, Lincoln, MA 01773.
COA&HS Offering Transportation
The COA&HS is once again offering transportation. Rides are for Lincoln residents aged 60 and older for local stops, including doctor's appointments, food shopping, and more! In order to maintain social distancing, only one rider per trip will be allowed at this time. The drivers will follow all CDC guidelines regarding disinfecting their vehicles and wearing protective equipment.
Riders are required to wear masks or other face coverings unless unable to do so for medical reasons. Capacity is somewhat limited. Therefore, riders who have applied to MBTA’s the RIDE and been found ineligible will be given priority. Please call Carlee at 781-259-8811 for assistance if you wish to apply for the RIDE.

Rides are partially funded by the First Parish Church and a grant from CHNA 15 which was made possible by Determination of Need funds received from Lahey Hospital & Medical Center.
Medical Equipment Loan Program
Items currently available to for loan include, but are not limited to: Automated pill dispensers, canes, wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, shower benches, seats, and stools, bed rails, grabbers, grab bars, bed rails, foot baths, leg braces, shoe horns, rollators, CAPTCHA telephones, commodes, commode liners, hearing aid cleaners, portable voice amplifiers, and much, much more!
We are offering podiatry clinics twice a month at Bemis Hall. Sign up is on a first come, first serve basis. To make an appointment, please call us at 781-259-8811.
Welcome to the Lincoln Council on Aging and Human Services!
The Lincoln Council on Aging & Human Services assists residents of all ages with a wide range of services.
We offer a wide array of classes and activities at Bemis Hall, many focused on topics of special interest to those 60 and over and their caregivers while others will be of benefit to residents of all ages. d topics as well as the humanities, arts, travel, and much, much more
- fitness classes for all levels including strength and aerobics, Tai Chi, and line dancing

Except for some trips, classes, and other special activities, our programs and services are free. Those under 60 are welcome to come to almost all of our programs and activities, especially educational programs, concerts and performances, movies, interest groups, and the Lincoln Academy. You’ll find them all listed in our monthly newsletter.We also provide one-to-one assistance to those 60 and over and their caregivers to help you stay safely in your home, including information and referral and care management, transportation, medical equipment loan, friendly visiting, meals-on-wheels, and more. Free home safety evaluations are provided through a grant from the Ogden Codman Trust. Specially trained volunteers offer health benefits counseling and tax preparation. We work closely with many town departments and private organizations offering human services to help create a “safety net” for our Town’s most vulnerable residents of all ages.
Residents of all ages experiencing extreme financial emergencies are welcome to call us. We may be of assistance through programs funded by donations and grants.
We implement the Senior Tax Work-Off Program for residents 60 and older and the Veterans Work-Off Program for veterans of all ages. Seniors offer their expertise and talent to a range of departments, ranging from the Schools to the COA&HS to the DPW and beyond, in exchange for an abatement of some of their local property taxes.
The Town Social Worker, funded by the Ogden Codman Trust, provides assistance to those under 60 including benefits assistance, information and referral, help with family issues, and more.
The Public Health Nurse, who works jointly with the COA&HS and the Board of Health, offers wellness clinics at Lincoln Woods and Bemis Hall as well as home visits for nursing evaluations and monthly educational programs. These are all open to residents of all ages.
The Veterans Services Officer provides assistance with state and federal veterans benefits and other service-related issues as well as outreach to the Lincoln veterans community.
Our programs and services are supported and frequently cosponsored by the Friends of the Lincoln Council on Aging. All our work is made possible by the efforts of our 150 volunteers.
