During inclement weather, heavy storms, and blizzards, only call 911 for life-threatening emergencies. Do NOT call 911 to report power outages or updates on road conditions.
To report a power outage or check the status of power restoration:
Call Eversource at 1-800-286-2000, or visit
www.eversource.com/customercare/ReportOutage.
(Eversource does NOT update police/fire with restoration times)
To report downed wires or telephone poles:
Do NOT attempt to touch or cross any downed wires! Call the public safety building at 781-259-8113, or call 911 if anyone is trapped or injured.
Before the storm:
- Make sure you have enough supplies in case of loss of power, including bottled water, non-perishable food, batteries, flashlights, battery-operated radio, first aid kit, and any needed medication.
- Make sure your phone is charged 100%
- If you have a generator, make sure it is fueled.
- Clear or secure any debris or items that may become airborne if high winds are expected.
- Let family/friends know where you will be.
- Print/write down any important contact numbers and contact information for utility companies.

During the storm:
- Stay inside! Do not drive unless absolutely necessary. If you have to drive, go slow and watch out for hazardous road conditions.
- Do not use generators inside, and make sure they are vented away from any doors or windows.
After the storm:
- Check your house for any damage as well as any trees/branches that were damaged and may fall soon.
- Use caution when driving; roadways may still be hazardous. Expect delays as well, especially if roads are closed due to fallen trees or wires.
- To check on power outages, call your utility company to inquire. Do not call police/fire for power restoration questions.
